Start with the Grand Mosque booking
Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque has a visitor booking system and specific visiting arrangements around worship. Check the current visitor page for your date, especially on Friday. Dress requirements apply: choose loose, covering clothes and follow the mosque’s guidance, including head covering for women.
We would visit earlier in the day for a quieter start, or book later if evening light matters more. Either way, the arrival process is part of the visit; do not schedule another timed entry immediately afterwards.

Choose your second main stop
Louvre Abu Dhabi is on Saadiyat Island. Its galleries, exhibitions and outdoor dome area have different closing times, so a late dome visit is not a substitute for time with the collection. Check the exhibition programme before deciding how much of the day to give it.
Qasr Al Watan is a working presidential palace with public visitor experiences. Its schedule can change with official use. Choose it for architecture and the palace interiors, or choose the Louvre for art and the museum experience. Both deserve more than a hurried photo stop.
A second day makes the trip easier
Stay in Abu Dhabi if you want a slower Corniche evening and time for Saadiyat or Jubail Island the next morning. A Yas Island theme park is a separate day, not an extra stop between the mosque and the museum.
For a day trip from Dubai, arrange your return transport before leaving. Our seven-day itinerary uses two days in Abu Dhabi to reduce the back-and-forth driving. In summer, make indoor visits the core of the day and move waterfront walks to the cooler evening.
