Day 1: start by the Creek

Spend the morning in Al Fahidi, then choose a museum or a longer lunch before crossing the Creek. The Old Dubai guide connects the Textile Souk, abra journey and Deira’s Spice and Gold Souks without treating them as separate trips.

Leave room to look around. If the heat is tiring, shorten the walk and save the Deira side for later in the day. Do not add Downtown just because it is your first evening.

Day 2: Downtown, with one main booking

Book the Burj Khalifa observation experience that actually interests you, then build the day around its time slot. Dubai Mall is next door, but its size makes it a destination in its own right. Choose a specific indoor attraction, a meal or shopping time.

If sunset is the main attraction, leave the earlier afternoon flexible. There is no need to squeeze in another observation deck on the same day.

Day 3: Marina and JBR

Use the Marina and JBR guide to distinguish the marina promenade from the beach side. Start with the part you most want to see, take a proper break and walk later when it is cooler.

A beach morning and a waterfront dinner can be a complete day. Check what your hotel includes before paying for another beach venue.

Day 4: the Palm, or a different interest

Palm Jumeirah works as a view-and-beach day or a full water-park day. Pick one of those versions. A resort at the end of the crescent is not a quick stop between other districts.

If the Palm is not your priority, use this day for Dubai Frame and time nearer the old city, or a Sharjah art and heritage visit. Museum of the Future’s exhibitions were temporarily closed when we checked on 30 October 2026; read its current-status guide before making plans.

Day 5: a desert afternoon

Keep the morning free, then take a booked desert outing suited to your group. Compare what the operator actually includes: driving, conservation, dinner and pickup arrangements vary.

For a history-focused alternative, choose Mleiha. Camel racing at Al Marmoom needs a confirmed race date and an early start; use it instead of another activity rather than automatically adding it to a late safari day.

Make the plan fit your dates

In summer, make indoor stops and rest the centre of the afternoon. With children, keep one main booking per day. If you have only five calendar days including flights, remove a sightseeing day instead of borrowing time from airport travel.

For seven full days, add two days in Abu Dhabi. Check hotel areas before booking, and arrange mobile data so maps and pickup messages are ready on arrival.
